Toddlin' Town

This past week my husband and I took a quick trip to our hometown for a Peter Gabriel concert at Chicago's United Center. I love quick roadtrips filled with spontaneity and whim, but most of all great food! I frequently scout out cozy cafes, eateries and diners with ZAGATs best ratings ahead of time and scour the menus to avoid 20 minutes of indecision. We spent our lazy mornings sleeping in at our hotel and then going out for brunch at our leisure. Although I miss the shopping, convenience and culture of the city I don't care for the constant horn honking and trains all night long. But, it is the most beautiful place to wake up.
Happy Weekend!

A Mad Affair

I recently hosted a "Mad Men" inspired birthday bash for my husband's 33rd. A retro cocktail party with candy cigarettes, big hair and bow ties. 'Twas a party to remember.

Enjoy!

Sweet Steals

For anyone who has read recent posts, I am a huge proponent of ShoeDazzle, and today they are crediting $10.00 for those who are signed up! If you didn't sign up, do it today. The shoes are very affordable, and for someone who has to wear black, all day everyday in a salon, I go through shoes like the Kardashians go through men.

They are so inexpensive that I don't feel bad when they bite the dust. ShoeDazzle also has a 'BOGO' special that can be combined with the $10.00 credit, getting you two pairs of kicks for under $30.00.... with shipping!...now that is a sweet steal.

Enjoy!

Sweet Steals

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about a "free" eyeglass advertisement I saw, but having felt a little daring, I tried it out. To my surprise, it actually was something free....who would have guessed?!  Even better news is I was in desperate need of new frames as my others just snapped. I am not one for splurging on things unless absolutely necessary, but taped glasses is a definite faux pas .

{The Frames I chose are Derek Cardigan in Black Root Beer}

I am thoroughly please with the frames, the RX lenses, and how fast they were delivered. It's simple to get your own, just follow these steps:

1. Go to Coastal Contacts
2. Scroll down to the ad that says "Get Your First Pair Of Glasses Free"
3. Choose from the eligible frames
4. Enter your RX
5. Pay for shipping and enter code "FirstPairFree"
6. Enjoy!

Few Obsessions

After Fashion Week, I am thoroughly excited to purge my closet of those drab pieces and revamp for a new season. My husband and I are currently in the process of moving and I have been swamped scrounging for boxes, getting caught up with nostalgic items, and of course reevaluating my closet.  I lost some more weight, which is a plus in any woman's book, so not only do I get to buy a new wardrobe, but it will be a size smaller. These are a few of the things I have been scouting, and of course offering two similar styles with two very different prices.

Enjoy!

Fall Forecast

By far, Fall is my absolute favorite season. The changing leaves, cool crisp air, warm cider, campfires and the best time for layering. I love a chunky knit sweater, leather jackets and boots. Lucky for me, I won't have to do much more shopping this season to keep up with this seasons trends, but here are some basic ideas thanks to Glamour.

Enjoy!
