Things To Inspire

Although I am not a huge enthusiast when it comes to reading books outside of what I deem necessary reading, if it has pictures and illustrations that appeal to my "right-brained", aesthetically seeking side, then I'm in it to win it! I love books I can set out on my coffee table and peruse through at my leisure skipping to the 'good parts' when I need some inspiration. These are a few books I have added to my reading list and hope you will enjoy as well!

Friday Fashion

The weekends are my favorite time to pick outfits. I feel as though you can be as dressed up, or down, as you like without an excuse. For me, picking an outfit is all in the details; I love hidden pockets, printed lining, detailed buttons, and all the little things that add up to make a thought out masterpiece. Sometimes the details are overdone and then under appreciated.

These red scalloped shorts were the perfect summer buy. They are comfortable and in my opinion, classy! I paired them with this sheer, beaded collar, vintage blouse and DIY color block pumps. As gold is my go-to colour for accessories, I chose this black Mulberry for Target bag and a simple gold cuff.

The weight of sheer buttoned blouses makes me feel so care-free in the summer. It's also so feminine! It was perfect for a night out with my husband after just getting over some sickness...Dressing up after a week of sweats and no makeup is like a breath of fresh air.

Enjoy!

Style Icon: Victoria Beckham

Let's face it, when we hear the words "Posh Spice" we think skin-tight, pleather-plastered, pretty class-less 90's teen pop singer. But, when you hear "Victoria Beckham" it brings to mind one thing for me; The Pencil Skirt... done right! From the fit, to the length, everything about it is ultra femme.
Take a look at some of these pieces I've compiled and get her sexy, chic style for less.

Breath of Fresh Air

With days spent at work and evenings at school, life has been hectic lately. My husband and I, however, did find some time to get away this past week before attending 1 of the 8 weddings we are attending this year.

{My husband and I hiking the trails}

We have a family cabin up in the hills of Pennsylvania, out of cell phone, Internet and satellite range. Although we were tempted to take the quads 2 miles up hill for phone reception, the absence of Facebook notifications and the constant buzz of cellphones was nice.
{My husband being inspired to write by tranquility}

The people in the more rural areas of Pennsylvania are warm with hospitality. Whether passing you on the bike trails or on the road, they wave, smile and are quick to invite you in for drinks and food. There, you know a handshake and a mans word goes a long way. They also have a simple yet brilliant motto, "Work hard, play hard."

{Taking morning boat ride}

During this season of warm weather, barbeque's, family picnics and summer soirees, I hope you and your loved ones find the opportunity to get away and spend quality time making memories.
